Pilates is a mind body system used by both fitness and medical professionals to strengthen the body and improve posture and flexibility. The system is focussed on the principles of alignment, breathing and centring to create a body which is strong, lean and highly mobile. I teach mat-based Body Control Pilates as a functional exercise system to give the strength and range of motion which will aid you in your daily life while giving a taller, leaner physical appearance through improved posture. The emphasis on precise movement and good technique help to develop mental focus, and offer an effective method of relaxation.
Pilates is safe and effective for enhancing general health and fitness at any age, improving sports performance and, while it does not replace physiotherapy, it can support rehabilitation from a range of injuries. My classes provide general support to
Develop strong core muscles
Strengthen the pelvic floor
Improve posture, body awareness, balance and co-ordination
Build strong and flexible muscles
I also provide one-to-one tuition in my home studio or by Zoom. One-to-one Pilates allows me to design a specific programme to address your needs and goals. One-to-one sessions cost £45 per hour. Please note that due to Covid-19 restrictions, I am currently unable to offer home visits.
